The Elora Lions are holding their Spring Fireworks Fundraiser, Saturday May 25th at the Grand River Raceway on County Road 21 in Elora. Local live entertainment for young children will be available. Admission is a minimum donation of $2 per person with proceeds of this year’s event going to Community and Lions projects. Gates open at 7pm. Fireworks begin after sunset.

Kick-start your summer by bringing the family to the 2013 Waterloo Air Show, June 1^st and 2^nd. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will highlight amazing aerial displays of aerobatics, jets and warbirds – and pyro!  New for 2013 will be a jet car screaming down the runway and and incredible wing walker. The Waterloo Air Show is excited to announce it is teaming up with the Canadian Aviation Expo this year, meaning two events are coming together at one location. The annual Canadian Aviation Expo is Canada’s premier aviation expo and trade show.  Celebrating its 20^th anniversary this year, the Expo features many displays and vendors catering to the aviation world. Guests can explore a huge selection of aviation products and new aircraft. Plus the Expo offers a ‘Fly-In’ which may see upwards of 200 small, private aircraft ‘flying in’ for the day. Aviation is showcased on the ground too with additional aircraft parked on the tarmac to get up close to, take photos and speak to the pilots. To round out the day, there will be aviation and community displays, kids activities, and Autograph Tent, Food Truck Alley and licensed areas. On Sunday, June 9, the 4th annual Walk to Fight Arthritis presented by the makers of TYLENOL® is taking place. Thousands of Canadians across Canada will walk and raise funds to support the 4.6 million Canadians who live with the pain and disability caused by this disease. 8th Annual Hog Jog - 3.5k run/walk & 10k run in support of Victim Services Perth County. To date, the Hog Jog has raised over $200,000 for seven worthy local causes.    More than 450 runners and walkers enter the event each year.  Participants range from recreational walkers, families enjoying an evening outing to serious competitive runners.  Both the 3.5k & 10k runners and walkers depart from the back of the Rotary Complex.  The 10km route, which runs through the trails of the Old Grove, is an interesting and challenging course with a combination of road and trails.  The evening traditionally begins with the ‘Weaner Run’ for runners aged 6 years and under and ends with a pork meal and awards ceremony.
