The 13-under-par score of 59 was the best low net score at the St. Marys Rotary Club’s 26th annual golf tournament last Thursday at St. Marys Golf and Country Club.
The winning score belonged to the local foursome of Jim Robson, Tom Warren, Dick Tunks and Rod Betteridge.
Sixty-four golfers took part in the four-person Texas Scramble format in ideal weather conditions.
Two teams tied for runner-up in best low net score. Those two foursomes consisted of Jaden Ropp, Kevin Thompson, John Bolton and Jeff Stewart, and Len Hawkins, Jason Brown, Chris Parker and Gerard Roy.
The Hawkins group were the defending champs.
There were several individual prizes awarded last Thursday. They included:
Putting contest: Jaden Ropp, Kevin Thompson, John Bolton and Jeff Stewart.
Chipping contest: Pierre Chateauvert.
Longest drive on No. 6: Gerard Roy.
Closest to the pin on No. 9: Chris Cockle.
Ladies longest drive on No. 13: Debbie Munro.
Longest drive on No. 15: Jaden Ropp.
Closest to the pin on No. 16: Gerry Teahen.
Most honest golfers: Grant Barton, Homer Rath, Gary Cumming, Chris Cumming.
Draw winners included: Mike Kochanowski, Nelson Goad, John Alderman, Allan Stewart, Rob Wydeven and Marlene Craig.
