Spots in Beijing have yet to be earned by three area competitors after the 2008 Olympic Trials in Windsor last week.
Long-distance runner Kurt Benninger placed fourth in the 1,500 metre final on Saturday, finishing 2.53 seconds after the race's leader Taylor Milne.
Benninger, a native of Chepstow, finished in three minutes, 40.56 seconds – 2.02 seconds slower than his record two weeks earlier at the Harry Jerome Classic in Vancouver.
Sarah MacIntosh of Walkerton placed 10th in women's shotput, throwing 12.01 m.
Paisley native Adam Kunkel was given an extension to qualify for the 400 m hurdles, after narrowly missing the required time.
Kunkel finished the race in 50.11 seconds, 0.61 of a second slower than the qualifying time.
After appealing to the Athletics Canada, citing injury and weather conditions, he was granted an extension until July 22 to achieve the qualifying time.
