The Intermediate Aces notched another win last Wednesday night against the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves on home turf.
Despite the hot, humid night the Aces stuck with it and played a full 45 minutes of lacrosse to win by a score of 8-1.
One highlight of the night, that the Aces will remember for quite some time, is when they were on a penalty kill. Melissa Cormack gets control of the ball in the crease, goes out the back door, looks for a teammate to pass the ball to, being she only has 10 seconds to get the ball down the floor. She looks up and sees Haley Price in the Braves end, Cormack throws the ball down, a bit past Price, the ball bounces off the boards towards the Braves goalie. The goalie tries to catch the ball with her hand, but knocks it enough to put the ball in the net. What a goal!
Scoring in this match were: Shawna Terpstra, assisted by Cormack; Haley Price, assisted by Julia Epoch and Laura Hatch; Becca Hostrawser, assisted by Epoch and Tamara Green; Bri Plester, unassisted; Plester, assisted by Alicia Jackson and Epoch; Shawna Terpstra, assisted by Hostrawser and Kendra Terpstra; Emma Bryan, assisted by Hatch and Jenn Culp and putting in the final marker was Cormack.
