Decapulettes team playing first home game of 2014 season

MILVERTON – Stratford’s full contact women’s roller derby team, the Decapulettes, will be hosting their first home game of the 2014 season against the Fergus Feims at the Milverton PERC on Saturday, April 12 at 7 p.m.

The two teams were closely matched at the 2nd annual Winter Wipeout tournament last month, with Fergus narrowly winning the tournament cup against the Decapulettes in the final game.

To help celebrate the Decapulettes 2nd “Slam-iversary”, Hugh Betcha will be announcing this exciting game. Betcha is one of the top-eight roller derby announcers in Southwestern Ontario.

Tickets cost $8 in advance, $10 at the door (kids 12 and under free). Doors open at 6 p.m., with wheels rolling at 7 p.m.

The Decapulettes are a full-contact team of the Festival City Rollergirls league. The league also includes a low-contact team and a Junior team.

The Decapulettes are comprised of players from Stratford, Milverton, Mitchell, Listowel, Palmerston and are currently practice at the Mitchell arena.
