Two losses for Wingham Ironmen

The Wingham Ironmen took two losses on the weekend – 6-1 to Walkerton Friday night and 4-3 to Mitchell Saturday.

Friday night’s game saw Evan Ducharme score the only Wingham goal, with assists from Darren Kerr and Nic Carter.

The Walkerton team dominated the entire game, with goals by Adam Alexander, Jake Barclay, Drew Davidson (two plus an assist), David Gallo (plus an assist) and Lauchlin Elder. Assists went to Hayden Campbell, Wade Pfeffer (two), Connor Patton and Shane MacDonald.

Saturday night’s game in Mitchell could have gone either way, with both teams scoring a goal in the first, Mitchell getting three in the second and Wingham scoring twice in the third.

Aaron Armstrong scored both two third period goals, with assists from Dylan Williams on both, and Matt Baker on one. Nic Carter scored the first period goal for Wingham on an assist from Matt McCracken.

Scoring for Mitchell were Jalen Aitcheson with two, Tyler McNaughton a goal and assist, and Jerry Ennett. Assists went to Brent Rae, Jade Maxwell, Derek MacDonald and Nathan Templeman.

The Ironmen play at home on Nov. 9 against Hanover, 7:30 p.m., and in Mount Forest Saturday night.
