Arthur Enterprise News Editorial
Arthur, as well as the whole of Wellington North, has once again been made proud.
Lisa Billiald, the current Arthur Fall Fair Ambassador, was among the top seven in the annual CNE competition this past weekend. Agricultural Society Ambassador Nicole Lenselink of Palmerston, Listowel’s Alana Coneybeare and Feversham’s Ashley Warrington were also among the seven semi-finalists.
Nearly 70 male and female fair winners from across Ontario, ages 18 to 25 were judged on poise, self-confidence and public speaking.
The crown went to Linda Slits of Milverton. First runner-up was Christi English of Norwood, and Alanna Coneybeare of Listowel was second runner-up. The 67 contestants selected Rachel Anstett of Walkerton for the Congeniality award.
Lisa Billiald has had an outstanding year and has represented Arthur, the Arthur Agricultural Society and Fall Fair and the Township of Wellington North in a stellar manner. She finished as second runner-up in the Miss Mid West Competition in Walkerton last month and has taken part in a myriad of events near and far in her role as ambassador.
Daughter of Carl and Anna Billiald of Damascus, Lisa is going back to Wellington Heights Secondary School in September for one more semester.
Mount Forest’s Ambassador of the Fair Tracy Moore also competed at the CNE.
Congratulations to both young women for representing our community.
