When raising our three children, we advised when you need help, go to the Police — they are your friend.

Recently CBC reported several members of the Fort Erie police had been suspended after one was charged by USA authorities for transporting into Canada large quantities of steroids.

The week before, the big story was the RCMP with a large number of female Officers charging male officers with sexual harrassment .

Before that , we read about the out of control behaviour of police Officers at the G20 summit in Toronto.

And of course, all of Ontario heard on the radio last year about the police officer in Mount Forest.

Regretfully, I would not now repeat my advice to my grandchildren.

A sad commentary on the apparent lack of ethics among those paid to uphold the law.
