Club busy with Christmas parties

The Wingham Golf and Curling Club was kept busy this past week holding four Christmas parties. On Wednesday, Dec. 12 the club hosted the Wingham hospital retirees to a beef buffet. Thursday the daytime curlers held their annual Christmas luncheon. Around 70 curlers and guests enjoyed a hot turkey buffet in the dining lounge. Friday night the Wingham elementary school staff was treated to a beef and turkey buffet. Sunday the Geisler family with organizers Steve and Paula Riley wrapped up the week with  a turkey buffet.

In curling action on Monday, Dec. 10 the daytime curlers winning teams were Mac Inglis, Al Webster, Clayt Ruppel, Glenn McMichael, Bruce Robertson and Wayne Forster. Monday night men saw Bill McDonald and John Mann skip their teams to victory. Tuesday night ladies winners were Jenn Elston, Jill Eadie and Carol Horton. The Wednesday mixed league saw Robert Grein, Rob Middleton, Wayne Horton and Julie Hallahan go home with wins.

Thursday, Dec. 13 the daytime curlers teams picking up wins were Larry Johnston, Bill Tolton, Murray Johnston, Clayt Ruppel, Mac Inglis and Glenn McMichael. Belgrave league saw the Shiell boys Murray and Don along with Cam Cook and Murray McNichol skip their teams to wins. The Friday mixed skips Bill McDonald and Barry Simpson helped curl their teams to victory.
