It’s official! Planning for Wingham Homecoming 2014 is underway – the date has been set for July 31-Aug. 4.
While planning is still in the initial stages, the executive guarantees the weekend will be filled with fun and will entice people to come home and see old friends, and for those who are here to partake in some good times. Activities are designed to cover all age groups, from children through to seniors with a variety of things to do, places to see and activities to be involved in. Open houses, sporting events, children and senior activities, home and business decorating and the massive parade are just a few of the exciting things that will be happening.
For their first event, the homecoming committee ran a slogan contest and appreciates all the entries that were received. The winners of the contest were Bill and Susan Tolton. For their efforts, Bill and Susan were awarded a gift certificate for Homecoming 2014 merchandise.
Plan now to take part in all that Homecoming 2014 has to offer. The official kick-off event and other events leading up to the weekend will be announced soon, so watch for details on the website. Registration, a schedule of events and other information will be available online at www.winghamhomecoming2014.com. Check the website often as it will be updated as new events and information become available. Homecoming 2014 will also be on Facebook and Twitter so look for us there soon.
There are lots of ways to get involved – register online, volunteer to make it a success, help spread the word, participate for the fun! For more information, go to the website or call the Homecoming chair Jason Goodall at 519-357-1646.
