Jeff Heuchert,Gazette staff

A pre-trial court date for the man accused of multiple child sex crimes dating back decades is set for Jan. 8 at 2 p.m.

The defence for Richard Kunder, 64, of Kitchener, was granted the adjournment in Stratford’s Superior Court Friday morning.

Kunder, who was released on bail in August after being arrested and charged  by Perth County OPP with five counts of indecent assault and one count of buggery, has yet to enter a plea.

The alleged offenses were committed against boys from Stratford and Listowel in the 1960s and ’70s when police say Kunder was a resident of Perth County. He served with the Listowel Police Force and later worked as a driving instructor in Stratford, where he ran his own business and taught driver’s education for both of the local school boards.
