A final flu shot clinic is taking place on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Perth District Health Unit, 653 West Gore St.
The clinic is by appointment only and is for people who still need a flu shot as well as any children who require a second dose.
“There is a lot of flu activity in Perth County,” says Lorna Askes, public health nurse. “If you haven’t already done so, protect yourself and others by getting the flu shot.”
The flu shot takes about two weeks to become fully effective.
Influenza season typically runs from November to April. Symptoms of the flu include a cough, sore throat, fever, chills, muscle aches, headache, and fatigue.
The flu shot is also still available through family doctors and select pharmacies.
To make an appointment for the flu shot clinic, call 519-271-7600 ext 225 or toll-free at 1-877-271-7348 ext 225.
