Stratford police cruiser
Cooper site victim died from fall from building

Jeff Heuchert, Stratford Gazette

Stratford Police Service have determined the man whose body was found Monday next to the Cooper site building died as a result of injuries suffered from a fall from the roof of the old locomotive shop.

In a statement to media sent out Tuesday afternoon, Insp. Sam Theocharis said investigators are not treating the death as a crime or suspicious in nature.

He said the 23-year-old victim, whose identity police will not be releasing, was from the Greater Toronto Area and in Stratford visiting relatives.

No other information as to why or how the man got onto the roof of the abandoned structure – or whether his death was intentional or an accident – was provided.
