EXETER — The Exeter Business Improvement Association (BIA) announced last week the hiring of a new full-time manager, Brittany Fry.
“We are thrilled to have Brittany on board,” said Exeter BIA chairperson James Eddington. “Her marketing experience and many business connections across the region will be a great asset to the BIA. Brittany will be instrumental to our launch of the new Shop Exeter brand in the coming year.”
According to a press release, Fry will start working full time with the BIA in December and be based at the new South Huron Welcome Centre at 483 Main St. S. in Exeter.
Her duties as BIA manager will include marketing and events co-ordination, beautification of the commercial district, communication services as well as general BIA administration.
Fry holds a degree in Media Studies and a diploma in Public Relations from the University of Guelph-Humber. Since returning to Huron County, she has worked the last four years with the County of Huron — Economic Development Services, the Huron Tourism Association, Huron-Perth Farm to Table (Good Food Box co-ordinator), the Huron Business Development Corporation, the Bayfield and Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Huron Arts and Heritage Network (formerly Heritage Culture Partnership).
The Exeter BIA represents over 200 merchants and has a mandate to beautify and market the commercial district as the region’s premiere destination for shoppers.
