CHUCK KUEPFER, Staff Reporter

Internationally acclaimed Elvis tribute artist Roy LeBlanc will perform at the Maryhill Commercial Tavern on Sunday, Jan. 13.

LeBlanc, whose performances come billed as high energy with a high level of audience interaction, has earned recognition for his tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll. He was Grand Champion at the world's largest Elvis contest in Collingwood in 1999 and was named the World's Finest Elvis Impersonator at the annual Elvis Extravaganza in Las Vegas in 2003.

Leblanc will be backed by the Memphis Cats Band at this weekend's Commercial Tavern performance.

“I’ve heard a lot of great things about the audiences in Maryhill and I know the band is gonna be rocking, so I’m really looking forward to this show," said LeBlanc.

Entitled Elvis: The King Returns, LeBlanc's show will feature 25 of the hit songs from Elvis's storied career from the 1950s to 1970s.

The show will be divided into two parts, with the first portion dedicated to Elvis's early career with songs such as That's Alright Mama, All Shook Up and Love Me.

The second half features songs from the latter portion of his career, including Burning Love and Are You Lonesome Tonight.

Jim Yorfido, a highly-regarded musician best-known for his work as a Johnny Cash tribute artist, will join LeBlanc for the show on lead guitar.

After his performance, LeBlanc will host a meet and greet for those who want to say hello, have a picture taken or get an autograph.

The show begins at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and available by calling 519-648-3644.
