Hawks fall to Trojans

THAMESFORD – The Exeter Hawks faced off against the Thamesford Trojans Friday night in Thamesford in their lone game of the week.

Thamesford built a 3-0 lead in the first period and never looked back, taking a 7-2 decision.

After the Trojans scored in the second period to make it 4-0, Exeter forward Cam Jude brought the score to 4-1 on a power play marker with under three minutes remaining.

But Thamesford struck back just over a minute later to regain a four-goal lead.

Christopher Pfaff cut the score to 5-2 three and a half minutes into the third but that was all Exeter would manage as Thamesford scored twice more.

Hawks goalie Colton James made 43 saves in the loss, while Exeter put 30 shots on the Thamesford net.

The loss leaves the Hawks' record at 13-13-2, dropping them to 5th place in the Yeck Conference.

Exeter is next in action Friday night (Dec. 14) at 8 p.m. in Exeter against the Mitchell Hawks.
