Police manhunt underway in Wilmot/Wellesley

Waterloo Regional Police are currently in Wilmot Township in search of a male wanted in connection with a current police investigation.  The male is on foot and is trying to evade police.  Members of the Emergency Response Unit and Canine Units along with patrol officers are active throughout the area.

Michael Fortune, 18, is being sought in relation to an assault incident in Kitchener last evening. Fortune is is described as black, 18 years old, heavy build, 6’3” tall, 230 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.

He is believed to be wearing black pants, black shirt and black jacket and may not be wearing shoes.

Residents of Wilmot Township and possibly Wellesley Township are asked to be on the lookout but to not approach this male.  Anyone seeing him is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
