Pedestrian killed crossing Main Street

EXETER — A South Huron man is dead after he was struck by a pickup truck crossing Exeter’s Main Street Friday night.

Huron OPP report that 57-year-old Thomas Burgess was crossing Main at George Street Friday at about 5:15 p.m. when he was struck in the southbound lane by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

Burgess was taken to South Huron Hospital where he later died.

The Huron County OPP is interested in talking to anyone with information regarding the collision. Contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 519-524-8314.
