Safe Access

No Frills has installed a new access point to their store for the Mennonite community off of Sligo Road. This horse and buggy only road is 100 per cent funded by No Frills, and according to Gary Williamson of Safe Communities Wellington North, will be the start of a series of roads in the north end of Mount Forest that will make access to businesses much safer for the Mennonite community.

Holstein Rodeo

Coming Together

Proceeds from the annual Renegades slo-pitch tournament, Mount Forest Curling Club barbecue and Kinsmen dance were donated to Mount Forest man John Williamson Monday, July 11 at the curling club. A Method to the Madness

Each firefighter on a call has a role to play, and often they work in teams to ensure the safety of everyone involved. A group of firefighters work together to remove the siding from a barn on Highway 89 in January 2016. Due to the safety measures put in place by the department and Ministry of Labour, firefighters were able to ensure that no firefighters or residents were hurt during this fire.


Council made more changes to the brush and yard waste pick-up program on July 11. The program is now similar to the 2015 program. The most notable change is that there will be no drop off sites in either Arthur or Mount Forest. Pictured above is the drop off site in Mount Forest this spring.

Award of Merit

Wellington Heights Secondary School teacher Barbara Illingworth (right) was recently presented with the Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation Award of Merit, which is presented to a teacher who goes above and beyond their normal job expectations.
