Irlma Edgar

At Braemar, on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, Irlma Elizabeth Edgar of Wingham, age 86 years.

The former Irlma Smith, beloved wife of the late Arthur Edgar, who predeceased her in 1969. Dear mother of Niel and Cathy Edgar of RR 3 Wingham, Donna and Roger Bieman of RR 2 Lucknow and Murray and Tami Edgar of Aylmer. Loving grandmother of Kim and Troy Ritchie, Annette and Brian MacKenzie, Kent Bieman, Blair and Shannon Bieman, Susan and Chris Jamieson, Kayla Edgar and Nathan Edgar. Great-grandmother of Kody, Lauren, Lane, Coye, Emily, Austin, Hayden and Rory.

Also survived by her brother Ross Smith and Mary Thomas.

Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary (Davidson) Smith, her brother Hartley Smith, her twin sister Alma Jamieson and her grandsons Michael and Todd Edgar.

Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home Ltd., Wingham, Ontario on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  Rev. Richard D. Hall officiated. Interment in Wingham Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Wingham United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Mary McGlynn

Mary Bernadette McGlynn of Braemar Retirement Centre and formerly of Turnberry Township passed away peacefully, with family and friends by her side, at Wingham & District Hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 in her 75th year. Mary was born in Hamilton, Ontario on Dec. 11, 1937 to the late John and Viola (Panek) Malone.

Beloved wife of the late William George (Jerry) McGlynn, who predeceased her in 1996.

Survived by her nine sons and one daughter, Bernie and Doreen McGlynn of RR 2 Wingham, Len and Kathy McGlynn of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Marty and Jodie McGlynn of RR 2 Wingham, Dennis and Cher McGlynn of RR 2 Teeswater, Sean and Shannon McGlynn of Teeswater, Valerie and Dennis Voisin of Listowel, Kelly and Kim McGlynn of Wembley, Alberta, Bill and Dana McGlynn of RR 2 Teeswater, Jeremy and Nicole McGlynn of RR 2 Holyrood and Pat and Janice McGlynn of Whitby.

Loving grandmother to Sherena, Michael, Lucas, Sheldon, D’Arcy, Danny, Matthew, Jamie, Maelan, Jen, Jeff, Chad, Nicki, Vanessa, Jack, Bradley, John, Fraser, Geoff, Scott, Kyle, Justin, Larissa, Brittany, Dustin, Brooklyn, Tyson, Jessica, Veronica, Josephine, Jerri, Mackenzie, Tatum and Keagan. Great-grandma to Eleanor.

Also survived by her sister Jacqueline Gilles of Beamsville and brothers Pat and Jalontha Malone and Peter and Allison Malone all of Hamilton, Michael and Virginia Malone and Bernard Malone all of Huntsville. Dear sister-in-law of Doreen Malone of Brockville, Vicha Janviriya of Detroit, Charlie Schiestel of Turnberry Township, Marianne Malone of Hamilton.

Remembered by Jerry’s family Rosie Gatecliffe and Helen McGlynn (nee Ernewein) both of Hamilton, Eileen McGlynn (nee Ernewein) of Wingham, Judy (nee McGlynn) and Ray Fischer of Culross Township and Eleanor Curran (nee McGlynn) of Turnberry Township. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by grandson Christopher Morrison-McGlynn (2010), infant great-grandson Kolby George Inglis (2012), brothers John Malone and Joe Malone, and sisters Pauline Schiestel and Teresa Janviriya.

Visitation was held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Wingham on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with family prayers and rosary at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. with Father Keith Morrison as celebrant. Interment in Wingham Cemetery.

Several family members and friends took part in Mary’s funeral mass. Pallbearers were grandsons Mike McGlynn, Lucas McGlynn, John Inglis, Fraser Inglis, Geoff Inglis, Justin McGlynn, Dustin McGlynn and Mackenzie McGlynn.

Memorial donations to the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Building Fund or the Heart & Stroke Foundation appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Syd Thompson

At Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, George Sydney Thompson of Wingham, age 77 years.

Beloved husband of Winona (Wright) Thompson. Dear father of Dennis and Donna Thompson of RR 3 Walkerton, Lori Thompson and Gary Harrison of Kitchener, Lisa Thompson and Dennis Schiestel of RR 3 Teeswater, and Lana Thompson and Mike McMillan of Collingwood.  Loving grandfather of Todd and Jennifer, Mark and Alicia, Deidra, Jack, Ella and Davis. Great-grandfather of Tyler.

Son-in-law of Laurine Wright of RR 1 Clifford.

Predeceased by his parents Frank and Luella (Shiell) Thompson, father-in-law Gordon Wright and sisters Frances Thompson in infancy, and Helen Siebert, and brothers-in-law Jack Siebert and Robert McClean.

Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home Ltd., Wingham on Monday, Oct. 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at Wingham United Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Richard D. Hall officiated. Interment in Wingham Cemetery.
