Sensational Elora is reporting its weekend of events was a big success.
Film on a Plate, Pumpkin Day, and the Sensational Soup-Off were all held on Thanksgiving weekend, with good crowds at all the events.
“Pumpkin Day was a huge success this year,” chair Kirk McElwain told Centre Wellington councillors at the start of last week’s committee of the whole meeting. “Dozens of kids came out there.”
A total of 29 pumpkins were carved during the event at the Elora Farmers’ Market.
The Soup-Off was also a success, raising between $10,000 and $11,000 for the Empty Bowls Project, McElwain said. That money goes to the Centre Wellington Food Bank and the Centre Wellington DHS breakfast club.
