Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital at the age of 88. Dear aunt to Anne Wyllie, Doug Black (Renate), Graeme Black, Marion Black. Dear great-aunt to Jason, David, Ben, Daniel and James Wyllie; Daniel, Katie and Kristen Black; Jordan and Josh Black; Flora and Maggie Manson-Blair. Predeceased by her sister Helen Black (2005) and her brother-in-law William (Bill) Black (1998). Evelyn retired from Center Wellington District High School in 1988 after many years service. Evelyn’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception. Interment Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus. Peacefully at the Wellington Terrace, Fergus on February 24, 2012 at the age of 86. Predeceased by husband Harvie Harold Marshall (2001). Lovingly remembered by her niece Peggy (Jerry) DeGroot and her nephews David (Ann Marie) McMorris and Mike (Bev) McMorris. Remembered by her eight grand-nieces and nephews and one great-grand niece. Predeceased by her sister Anne Elizabeth McMorris and her brothers Wallace Hugh and Stuart and his wife Lenore McMorris. Respecting Berniece’s wishes, a public graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 6 at 3:30pm at the Elora Cemetery. Norris, Jean
Passed away peacefully at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Monday, February 27, 2012 in her 88th year. Jean Norris (nee Mabb) of Elmira was the beloved wife of the late Merlyn Norris (1985). Loved mother of Sharon and her husband Alec Johnston of North Carolina, Neil and his wife Laurie of Elmira, Valerie and her husband John Thomson of Elmira, Joel and his wife Kendra of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of Matthew (Rosalia), Leanne (Wes), Linda (2011) (Ian), Douglas, Laura (Terry), Benjamin, Heather, Meryl, Erin, and two great-grandchildren Jordan and Kenzie. Also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Evelyn Mabb, her brothers and sisters-in-law of the Norris family and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Lizzie and Sidney Mabb, a brother James Mabb and a sister Joyce Coveney. Jean was proud to serve in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps during World War II. Friends were received at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Friday, March 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the funeral service time of 2 p.m. at Woodside Bible Chapel, 200 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira. A Legion service was held in the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the L. J. Thomson-Sutherland Hope and Strength Award or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, on February 27th, 2012 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Verna May (DeLaronde) for 59 years. Retired employee of Molson Brewery. Loving father of Stephen Sanderson and his wife Patricia, Corinne Whately and her husband Bill, and Verna Duncan and her husband David. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Stuart, Ian, Erin, Ross, Jacob, Melissa, Clayton, Heather and Zach and cherished great-grandfather of Joseph, Madison, Sydney, Jour-Nay, Talor, William, Faith, Jerome and Maci. Survived by his brother Douglas and his wife Marion. Friends were received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Friday, March 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Legion Service at 6:45 p.m. & Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 760 St. David St. North in Fergus, on Saturday, March 3 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations in Duncan’s memory can be directed to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #275 in Fergus.
