Maurice Hallahan

At Clinton Public Hospital, on Thursday, March 22, 2012, Maurice Kirby Hallahan of RR 1 Belgrave, age 81 years.

Beloved husband of Mary (Hicknell) Hallahan. Dear father of Joseph Hallahan of Wingham, Jim and Karen Hallahan of Belgrave, Dennis and Julie-Ann Hallahan of RR 3 Blyth, Maryanne and Bill McCormick of Whitechurch, and Irene Hallahan and Rob Deer of Clinton. Loving grandfather of Blaine, Jason, Tyler, Jeff, Kyle, Becky, Connor, Jackson, Lisa, Billy, Amanda and David, and eight great-grandchildren.

Brother of Rose Marie Dumais of Waterloo.

Predeceased by his son Peter Hallahan and granddaughter Tracy Plumsteel.

Visitation was on Monday, March 26 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Wingham, where the Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1 p.m. Father K.P. Morrison officiated. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Morris Township.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Mary Pollett

At Huronlea, Brussels on Friday, March 23, 2012, Mary Elizabeth Pollett, age 84 years.

The former Mary Chipman, beloved wife of the late Hector Thomas Pollett who predeceased her in 1996. Dear mother of Bonnie and Robert Wylie of RR 1 Belgrave and Paulette and Kevin Netterfield of Kitchener. Grandmother of Anastasia O'Hare Gonthier and her husband Francois, Jacqueline Gilbert and her husband Brett, Anne Appleton, TJ (Thomas), Alanna and Spencer Netterfield. Great-grandchildren, Erin and Shannon Gilbert, Noah and Jonah Gonthier.

Sister of Thomas, Theophilus (Ted), Alma, Raymond, Helen and Brian.

Predeceased by her siblings Benjamin, John, Waldon, Harold, Diane, Edward and Beverley.

A celebration of Mary's life was held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 180, Wingham on Tuesday, March 27 at 1 p.m. A further service in New Waterford, Nova Scotia will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations to the Huron Perth Lung Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Gary Sorley

Gary Francis Sorley of Teeswater passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the age of 67. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on Nov. 10, 1944 to the late David and Dorothy (Easton) Sorley.

Beloved husband of Jennifer Bestward (Verkerk). Dear father to Jim and Sabrina Sorley of Thorold, Sarah and Andrew Houston of Calgary, Nathalie Bestward and Brandon Curts of Alisa Craig and Joel Bestward of Calgary. Missed by grandchildren Benjamin and Matthew Sorley and Odin and Colton Curts.

Also survived by his siblings Betty Peckham, Ken and Betty Anne Sorley and Barb and Earl Sutton all of Niagara Falls and Fred Sorley of St. Catharines. Fondly remembered by brother-in-law Bruno Rossi of Niagara Falls and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his sister Gail Rossi and wife Carolyn Bestward.

Gary was a former business manager and member of the I.B.E.W. Union – Local 303.

Visitation was held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Tuesday, March 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service was conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 21 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Michael Rundle officiating  Pallbearers were Jim Sorley, Joel Bestward, Andrew Houston and Jason Schmidt.

A memorial service for family and friends was held in Niagara Falls on Saturday, March 24. Spring interment in Culross-Teeswater Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Flora Fear

Mrs. Flora Elizabeth (Coulter) Fear, formerly of Listowel and Blyth, passed away at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton, on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the age of 93.

Beloved wife of the late Bert Fear. Mother of Katherine and Dave Wilson of Lion's Head, Bill and Darlene Fear of RR 1 Wroxeter, and Velma and Wayne Hudson of St. Paul, Alberta.

Grandmother of Scott and Kristin Wilson, Greg and Tara Wilson, Leanne and Wes Drennan, Dan and Ann Marie Fear, Tyler Fear, Nathon Hudson and his friend Carolyn Rodgers, and Michael Hudson. Great-grandmother of Jeremy and Christopher Wilson, Tate and Owen Drennan, and Rian Fear.

Predeceased by her sister Jean Moffat.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Friday, March 23 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, on Saturday, March 24 at 11 a.m. Interment in Blyth Union Cemetery.
