Two local artists are using their talents to make a difference in Perth and Huron counties.
Painter Erik Sansom and photographer Irene Miller were special guests at the United Way’s Leader Donor Reception held at The Royal Palisade last Monday evening.
The two announced they will be donating the proceeds from sales of a limited-edition print “Erie Street, Stratford, Ontario” to the United Way Perth-Huron.
The final print, numbered 32 of 200, will be auctioned off at the second annual Spaghetti Dinner being held on Monday, Jan. 21 at the Stratford Rotary Complex.
United Way chose this number for the auction piece as the United Centre Building is located at 32 Erie St.
During Monday’s event, leader donors of United Way Perth-Huron attended an appreciation reception held in their honour. Royal Palisade hosted and sponsored the early-evening affair.
United Way Perth-Huron enjoyed this opportunity to thank their leader donors, who are defined as individuals who give an annual gift of $500 or more.
“With a gift of $500 a year or $10 a week, we are able to provide one month of fuel for delivery of food to a food bank, six months of counseling to a victim of abuse, six months of hospice support to someone who is dying, or one month of shelter, food, counseling, advocacy, life skills training and longer life term planning for a homeless youth,” said Lesley Spencer-Cooper, United Way campaign and resource development manager.
“We are so grateful for our leader donors who truly do make a difference in Perth and Huron Counties.”
Prints of Sansom’s colourful painting are available for purchase at multiple locations around Stratford including The United Centre, My Custom Framers, Factory 163, Fanfare Books, The Book Vault, Callan Books, and Perth Community Futures on St. Patrick Street.
