Bill Kirton

At Wingham & District Hospital on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, Mr. William John Kirton of Wingham, age 61 years.

Beloved son of the late Eldon and Beryl (Cunningham) Kirton. Dear brother of Elaine and Wim deBoer of RR 1 Lucknow, Jim Kirton of Varna and friend Shirley Nicholson and Audrey Fitzgerald and Brian Densmore of Bayfield. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and by his friends at Community Living, Wingham & District.

Predeceased by his sister Gale Winter and brother-in-law Tom Winter.

Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home Ltd., Wingham on Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. Rev. Richard D. Hall officiating. Interment in Wingham Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Community Living, Wingham & District or Wingham United Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Bonnie MacDougall

Bonnie MacDougall (nee Gibson) passed away at Parkwood Hospital, London, on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at the age of 86.

Formerly of Burlington, Ontario, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Gordon and Lulla Gibson. Born in Wroxeter, she completed her primary and secondary school education in Huron County, and then attended business college in Guelph, and from there established a career in banking. Bonnie lived and worked in London, Toronto, Boston, Montreal and Calgary, before settling in Burlington.

She was predeceased by her brothers Crawford and Garry, and her sister Lulu (Lu).

Truly adored aunt to Crawford’s children, Lance (Sandy) Gibson, Shane (Merilyn) Gibson, and Sharon LaFraugh; Garry’s children Darryl (Brenda) Gibson, Deborah (Reid) Dingwall, Dave (Colleen) Gibson, Don Gibson and Drew Gibson; and Lu’s children Sue (Doug) Atkinson and Dean (Karen) Reffell.

Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Ella Gibson. Bonnie was cherished by many great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was a kind, fun-loving, energetic, generous aunt with a natural warm and loving way with children. Bonnie will be especially missed by Katie and Bridget Atkinson, to whom she was a “Grandma”.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Wroxeter Community Hall.

Remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, CNIB, or a charity of one’s choice.

Daisy Wall

Daisy Wall of Wingham and formerly of Teeswater passed away at Gilbert Hall Retirement Home, Wingham on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at the age of 94.

Beloved wife of the late Elmer Wall, who predeceased her in 2005. Daisy was the last surviving member of her family and is lovingly remembered and missed by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dear sister-in-law of Madeline Ritchie of Goderich, Betty Ritchie, Dorothy Wall and Beth Wall, all of Lucknow.

Predeceased by her parents, William and Ida (Webster) Ritchie; her sisters Clara Raynard (Nelson), Jean Papernick (Ivan), Elsie Irvin (Robert) and Violet Smith (James); her brothers Harvey Ritchie and Eldon Ritchie; brothers-in-law Grant Wall and Morley Wall; and sisters-in-law Cora Thompson (Frank) and Verna Shewfelt (Bert).

A funeral service celebrating Daisy’s life was held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Hannah Lee officiating. Spring interment in Culross-Teeswater Cemetery.

Scriptures were read by family friends Brenda McAllister and Murray Lamont. Nephew Larry Papernick gave words of remembrance. Pallbearers were nephews Melvin Ritchie, Jim Ritchie, Chris Raynard, Bob Wall, Doug Wall and Ronnie Thompson. Family friend Lloyd Lamont carried a floral tribute.

Memorial donations to Teeswater United Church, the Diabetes Association or a charity of one’s choice appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
