Second generation entrepreneur

Pledge completed

The Louise Marshall Hospital Auxiliary have started their 95th year on a very positive note, as it was revealed on Jan. 11 that they have fulfilled their $50,000 pledge to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation’s Always Here For You campaign one year ahead of schedule. The group pledged the money over five years, but after a lot of hard work and dedication from their more than 80 members, they reached their goal in four years. Present for the announcement were, from left: Auxiliary secretary Wendy Rogerson; Auxiliary president Linda Dunk; Foundation president Donna Leach; Auxiliary vice-president Penny Renken, and; Auxiliary past-president Wreatha Speers.

Recognized for 30 years of service

The Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation recognized long-time volunteer Verna Batenchuk (right) on Jan. 11 for her 30 years of volunteer service to the hospital in a number of roles. Batenchuk was presented with a cake by foundation president Donna Leach (centre) and John Dale (left), incoming auxiliary liaison to the foundation, to celebrate her achievement.

RECOGNIZED

Marty Young (left), owner of Young’s Home Hardware in Mount Forest, and his staff were presented with the Cornerstone Award by Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington program co-ordinator Sarah Bowers-Peter (right) on Jan. 12. The award is presented each January during Crime Stoppers Month to one individual, business or organization in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the program.
